The PIDIM held our 2021 Annual General Meeting on March 16, 2021 in an online format with 61 members in attendance. The business of The PIDIM was completed with the focus on maintaining Councils commitment to the membership. 2020 was a challenging year for The PIDIM and we look towards 2021 in hopes of being able to again meet and engage with the membership in person.
The PIDIM would like to announce that the following awards were presented
Stella's for members stepping down from the council
The Hope MacKenzie Volunteer Award was presented to Rita Cordingley. A member of The PIDIM since 1977, Rita has served on Council, as part of The PIDIM Trade show committee (both versions) and numerous events and committees over the years. The one stipulation for the award is that Rita needs to share it with her husband Robert as she has "volunteered him" for every event as well
The PIDIM also announced that Elizabeth Sellors has been conferred the status of FELLOW of The PIDIM. A Fellow is based on the significant contribution to the Association, through distinguished service, the betterment of the PIDIM, and the profession of Interior Design. Liz has served on Council in numerous capacities over the years, either elected or to complete the term when someone has stepped away. Most recently she is the Chair of The PIDIM Legacy Committee and has spent the past two years sorting and co-ordinating 66 years of documents and momentoes.
The PIDIM Council also recognizes members who have rendered meritorious service to the Association and have retired, the status of Emeritus Member. This year The PIDIM would like to announce that Bruce Wardrope and Laurie Wardrope have been awarded this membership title. Bruce and Laurie have retired after 40 plus years of active design.
The PIDIM Manitoba Design Committee also would like to let the membership know that the 2021 Manitoba Design Exposition has been booked for December 2, 2021, at the Victoria Inn and Conference Centre. More announcements will be forthcoming as we continue to plan and navigate the government restrictions and requirements.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
