The PIDIM held our 2021 Annual General Meeting on March 16, 2021 in an online format with 61 members in attendance. The business of The PIDIM was completed with the focus on maintaining Councils commitment to the membership. 2020 was a challenging year for The PIDIM and we look towards 2021 in hopes of being able to again meet and engage with the membership in person.
The Professional Interior Designers Institute of Manitoba along with the MDE committee has made the difficult decision to cancel MDE 2020 , which was slated for October 14th, 2020.
On October 17, 2019 the provincial interior design associations of Manitoba (The PIDIM), Alberta (IDA) and Saskatchewan (IDAS) celebrated the 3rd Annual masi Design Awards with a gala celebration. With 79 Award submissions in 10 different categories, from all three Prairie Provinces, this was the most successful masi Design Awards to date.
Our lives have been affected by a renewed interest in wellness. We have modified our thinking and our behaviors to be more focused on health and well-being. Strangely, this rethinking is just starting to permeate the office... where many of us spend most of our waking hours. What if our workplaces supported our well-being on multiple levels, and didn't just aim to be 'less bad' but were truly regenerative, healthy environments? How do we, as an industry, design interior environments that support the physical and psychological well-being of the people who inhabit them? Activity-based design is an important part of the answer.
